knotes don't save on kde4 exit

Sun Sep 05, 2010 5:19 am
opensuse 11.3 and kde 4.4.4 r2.

can't get knotes to save location and format correctly on exit of kde4. when system is restarted (or after logout/login) knotes are scrambled all over desktop. is there a solution for this?

thanks.

is this not the correct place to look for help with knotes?

Is the content of the notes preserved?
If it is, does your system change screen resolution as part of the login process?

content is preserved.

screen resolution does not change. however, i do use two monitors and the notes get scattered across both. the sizes of the notes also change.

Do you stack any applets on top of each other?

not sure what you mean. not all of the knotes are always in the clear. when the system is shutdown, there may be some knotes under my two always open konsole windows. one of the displays is used for a vmware window and older knotes are under it. usually i close the vmware window at shutdown, but the last time i may not have. i often do not close the knosole sessions as they will reopen at restart. is that a problem?

not sure that it matters, but since moving to kde4, all my icons are in the desktop folder and that's all that's there. the knotes are sprinkled around the two displays. (i'm one of those that still prefers kde3 style desktop.)
