Digg it because I've been searching some time for solve this problem: just add

Code: Select all

[RecentDocuments]
MaxEntries=50

or MaxEntries=20 or any number you like to your ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals/
Works on 4.4.5

this has been bugging me for a few years now..
the closest i could ever find was this at Tips4Linux for ubuntu and I thought it might work because KDE too, reads the gnome file for defaults.list (/var/cache/gio-2.0/gnome-defaults.list), so i ended up spending way too much time on the file ~/.gtkrc-2.0..
