For some reason the default email client seems to be evolution - in my opinion the worst possible program to use for email - and no matter what I do, I can't change this. I have changed the setting in Control Center to no effect and I have even uninstalled evolution (with the result that now when I click on an email link, nothing happens). There doesn't seem to be anything in the "update-alternatives --all" list, so what can I do?
I want to use thunderbird - it seems a natural thing to do when the default browser is firfox. |

SystemSettings->Default applications.

You have to change the handler for mailto URIs in Firefox. I don't think Mozilla provides any kind of desktop integration (e.g. through xdg-utils), they have their own settings for everything.

Til Nissemanden: I'm using Debian; I don't think there is a SystemSettings->Default applications anywhere.
anda_skoa: I found it - thanks ![]() |
