Long time since my last post. Good sign, since I hardly have issues with KDE 4
![]() I recently upgraded to 4.5 from the extra debian experimental repos. That went OK except for some little niggles that might just as well be due to packaging issues, but who knows. The issues so far: 1. I cannot get a preview for files on the desktop. Neither on the desktop itself, nor when hovering, nor when choosing action preview. Preview _does_ work in Dolphin though. 2. In the network manager plasmoid, two lines are missing in the popup window: the line that indicates the current connection, and the line where I can click to activate the broadband connection. 3. The yawp weather plasmoid does now show icons for all days. Other than that, all seems to be OK. Fast and stable and pretty to boot. Cheers.

For 1) have you checked the settings of the Folder View that is problematic? The setting that controls tooltips can be found in the "Display" tab.
For 2) Note that only connections which are currently available to be activated will be shown. Therefore, your wireless broadband modem will need to be connected for it to be shown.

Thanks for answering. 1. Yup, checked it. All looks fine. 2. Has been solved by installing the plasma network widget

Mmm, are you sure? Perhaps it works OK in other distros. And Debian are still not finished with their packaging, so it might be better to wait a couple of weeks, no?

Preview for files on the desktop worked when I tested it ( on KDE 4.5 )
