Hi,
I'm running 4.5 on Arch Linux both on my laptop (64 bit) and netbook (Samsung NC10, 32 bit), plasma-desktop on the former, plasma-netbook on the latter. On both, I can't seem to install new plasma widgets. When I try through Add widgets > Get new widgets > Download new plasma widgets, the widgets download and are marked installed but they are not added to the list of widgets even if I logout/log back in. When I try to install widgets manually, I get an error message which simply says the installation failed. I didn't try this under 4.4 so can't say whether it appeared with 4.5 or not. Could anyone give some idea as to what is going wrong here or how I could try to find out what's going wrong? Thanks. |

It's a bug in 4.5.1, see viewtopic.php?f=67&t=90169#p169860

I found a workaround which is working for me. Unzipping the plasmoid as directory and then installing with plasmapkg -i <directory> works. I found this at source : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=104060 You can also get more details here : viewtopic.php?f=67&t=90232 |
