Hello,
I've posted earlier about this issue. I've discovered that with my latest kde version 4.5.1 compiled from source, the lookup of a .directory file, important for how a directory is presented, is not done when the directory has size zero. This happens for example with some FUSE filesystems, and with cifs, to mount Windows and/or Samba shares, even if there is a .directory file on the share! Remember, a size of the directory of zero ( a stat value) has nothing to do the directory is empty or not. In a filesystem a directory is also an object in itself, which takes some space. That space is the st.st_size. How come?? Stef |

This feature is probably an optimisation, which is probably located in kio_file. I suggest you check it's code:
svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/KD ... aves/file/ Once you have a patch to correct it, I suggest posting a review request at reviewboard.kde.org.
