Hi,
I do all my work in KDE via NX (which is analogous to VNC). I just moved to KDE 4.4.2 and discovered that copying from the host operating system (on both Linux and Windows) to konsole almost does not work. I say "almost", because there were a few times when I was able to do it - but it's not repeatable. I played with the klipper settings, but "Synchronize contents of the clipboard and the selection" and "Text selection only" don't do what I want, and I don't see anything else that's relevant. I can paste into Firefox without problems, so I think the issue is somewhere within KDE. Copying from Firefox to konsole works fine. Oh, and while I'm here - konsole in the new KDE lost the option of having textured backgrounds, which I miss a lot. Is there some kind of mod that brings them back? Thanks, Simon |

If you close Klipper, does that have any effect?

Closing klipper has no effect - I still can't paste into konsole, only into Firefox.

Are you using the correct shortcut to paste into Konsole? ( Ctrl + Shift + V )

Yes, I've tried both shortcuts and menu.
Clarification: I've just tried pasting when running nxclient on Linux, and it's only middle-click pasting that does not work in konsole within nxclient (but works in Firefox within nxclient). The regular copy-paste works on Linux (but still not on Windows). There is only one instance when middle-click pasting works - it happens when I just start klipper after it was not running and I have not selected anything in the nxclient window yet. As soon as I make a selection that klipper listens to, that selection is always used even after I try middle-click pasting the selection from the host Linux window. |

Unfortunately I don't know why this happens... are any clipboard managers ( such as Klipper ) running on the system being accessed?

Unfortunately I don't know why this occurs in that case. It certainly seems like two applications are "fighting" over the clipboard however.
