Hi all.
I've been a long time user of Gnome and other gtk orientated DE. recently I discovered KDE (more like I gave it a decent oportunity) and I'm enjoying it!! There are just a few pet peeves that I'm sorting out but one in particular is the following (forgive me if it's obvious or been answered. I did do a search prior but found little): When I enable previews in the folders, there is an unsightly black border around small .png for example. Is there any way of removing this or disabling it? Using Kubuntu 10.10 with KDE 4.5.1 and dolphin file browser. Cheers, PL |

I can reproduce this on some images but not others. Do these images have Alpha channels by any small chance?

Yeah they do. Now that you mention it I mainly see this in thumbnails of .pngs with alpha channels. jpegs and other formats don't exhibit this behaviour.

Please file a bug at bugs.kde.org against kio_thumbnail so that this can be fixed. ( If kio_thumbnail isn't there, file it against Dolphin )

Hi i have other question... it doesn't matter if i use "dolphin" or "konqueror" but when i enable thumbnails (Preview) i can't see what is shortcut and what is not!
Is there a way to see thumbnails and shortcut arrow at the same time? Thanks ![]()

This is probably a bug in the implementation, please file a bug report at bugs.kde.org. The shortcut icon is provided via an "Overlay" which isn't being set in this case.
