I would like to automatically see mounted devices in dolphin. Now, when I add e.g. a usb stick I cannot see it on the left side automatically. Instead, I first have to right click and click then "show all devices". Then the entry is being shown. When I then left click on it it is being mounted as expected.

How can I configure dolphin to show all devices automatically once they are plugged in?

It sounds like you have hidden devices in the past. Do you have any entries in the Dolphin Sidebar you need to keep?

If you don't, remove ~/.kde4/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml
