MPX multiple mouse pointers are glitchy

If you aren't aware of MPX, you probably can't help me in this post.
==============================================================================

So I recently set up a dual monitor configuration so I can test this networked multiplayer game I made on 1 computer. First I'd like to say, KDE is AMAZING with multiple monitors, it does a phenomenal job - better than any OS or DE. Anyways, with MPX, I'll be able to control both games at the same time with 2 sets of mice and keyboard (and this does currently work).

The problem is, the 2nd mouse pointer constantly disappears. I have to do some weird combination of clicks and movements with both mice so I can see it again, and the second I click on something with it, it disappears again. This only happens in KDE, it works fine in GNOME, XFCE, and LXDE. In my game, this isn't a drastic issue since it has it's own mouse pointer in it, but its kind of annoying when I'm struggling to search for the game window in the first place. Is anyone aware of what can be done about this? I do have kwin compositing on, if that makes a difference.

Good to hear that multi monitor support is working well for you.
Have you tried disabling Desktop Effects to rule them out as a cause of this?

well, it SORT of works. even when i can find the mouse, click responses are still more glitchy in kde than other DEs.

i tried turning off compositing and it does make the mouse appear and stay visible at all times. i use compositing for practical purposes more than for eye candy, so i'd prefer not to turn it off. so is there anything i can do about this?

Have you tried turning off selective effects to see if this is caused by one effect in particular?

all mouse related effects are off. i noticed kwin tends to do a lot of weird things to the display as a whole. for example, i use gkrellm and kwin uses up about 6% cpu usage if compositing effects are on, but if compositing is turned off or if i shut down gkrellm, the cpu usage drops to 0. i'm really considering not using kwin compositing at all anymore, i just like the idea that it does what i want it to do and that its built-in.

from what i heard, compiz doesn't have the gkrellm problem and not only does compiz not screw up mouse pointers but it even has a plugin that can control multiple windows at a time.

unless you have another idea, i might just switch to compiz. i just feel like compiz is a little overkill for what i'm trying to do.

I recommend you contact the KWin developers, via kwin@kde.org, as they may be able to help you with this.
