Hi everyone,
I'm using kubuntu 10.10, and after the plymouth phase appears on my desktop this error message:

Code: Select all
X session: Unable to launch "" X session _ _ _"" not found; falling back to default session

Then I've to press OK to go on with the loading (after that everything fine).

I thought that the problem could be caused by my graphic card, so i've installed property driver for ati hd3200, but nothing change, at the start up the same error appear. So i've uninstalled the closed driver and restore the open one... sure the problem is still there.

Any idea to solve the problem??

Thank you

Bye

At the login screen, right click on "Sessions" and make sure "Default" is selected.

All right, thank you!

I solved the problem following your advice!

these are the step I made:

1) i've set the manaul login

2) reboot

3) at login set as default kde

When i was logging-in, a messagge appear:

Code: Select all
Your saved Gnome session isn't valid anymore.
Please, choose a new one or the default one will be used

setting KDE as sefault solve this issue!

So thanks again!!

bye
