Hi!
I can't find where one can change behavior of middle click on folder icon. In my KDE4 (default settings, Slackware 13.1) when I middle click on a folder icon in Dolphin it opens in a new tab. In KDE3 the default was to open it in new window. How can I change it in KDE4? Thanks in advance! ![]() EDIT: I would also like to have KDE3's behavior when I middle click a file (an image or a movie file for example), that is I would like it to open in associated program in new window. |

There is no such option in KDE at the moment. The reason the default was to open in a new window is because the KDE 3 version of dolphin didn't have tabs.
You could suggest an option in the brainstorm forum or bugs.kde.org, either to change the behavior or to simply disable tabs entirely. There does not appear to be a bug report about it yet.

In KDE3 Konqueror had tabs and yet one could open files and directories in new window with middle click...
Dolphin and Konqueror seems to be quite similar applications so I was surprised that in KDE4 one cant choose this behavior. Thanks for tip about brainstorm forum. It's not matter of life and death but changing old habits can be pain in the **** ![]() |
