Hi All,
Dolphin unable to copy/cut the following file because of long file name! does this issue a bug or I missed some package to install?
PS Usually I was using Linux for fixing Windows files issue but today I did the opposite Windows could copy that file without any problem ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I created a file with that name and could copy/move it without any problems. Are you sure the issue is with the file name? For example, can you write to NTFS? (Judging from the path it looks like a removable USB drive formatted as NTFS.) If not, you can't move (cut) the file. Do you have read access?
Can you move/copy the file with the commands mv and cp?

Yes, I can write and as you noticed the removable USB drive formatted as NTFS
Actually no... here is the result of moving command

In this case, it is a limitation of the underlying system (probably the NTFS driver) which is preventing you from removing the file, rather than Dolphin itself.

Yes I agree with you partly because Windows accepted these files while Linux didn't! So I think the limitation comes from Linux way in reading/writing NTFS file system not USB drive itself. is it? |

Correct, the limitation is in Linux's support of Microsoft's NTFS file system, rather than in hardware or other pieces of software.
