I want the screensaver to continue running without eventually going to a black screen. Monkeying with the power management settings has no effect. I'm running KDE 4.4.5 on Slackware 13.1.

Have you checked both Power Management settings in System Settings > Power Management as well as System Settings > Display & Monitor > Screensaver?

Okay, I've gone into power management and unchecked the box for dim display after however long; no go. What I want is simple: I don't want the screen to dim without my say-so. Ever. How can I get that?

If this still occurs with KDE 4.6 RC1, please file a bug report.

I'm not running that on anything at the moment, but I will be in a day or two. I'll file a report if need be.
