Unfortunately I do not believe this is possible, and has been designed to function in this way.

Since the purpose of the confirmation dialogue (and the trashcan itself for that matter) is to make sure you don't accidentally delete something you didn't mean to delete, I think it's a reasonable safe-guard.
However, if you feel you don't need that safe-guard: it's always possible to bypass the trashcan entirely. In the Dolphin preferences, select the "General" view and the "Context menu" tab. Check the "Show 'Delete' command" and you are able to delete immediately - with a warning if you feel like it - on the Behavior tab of the same view. Alternatively, enable periodic emptying of the trash. Trash-view in Dolphin preferences, enable for example "When limit reached", "Delete oldest files from trash".

hey,
I have been away for a while, sorry for answering late. I'm aware about the purpose the safe-guard-function. and imagine, that I still want to use the trashcan sometimes, but simply don't want be be asked more then only the first time, whether I'm know what I'm doing. so, every user who likes to klick around like a windows user, who has to click 5 times the number of confirmation windows to get the system to do what he/she wants, can do that. simply, I don't. ask me one time, give my the opportunity to turn that dialog off, and everything is fine. as longterm linux & KDE user, I see a problem rising, that the KDE developers don't listen to their users anymore. for whom do you develope? functions come, people get used to them, and then they go away and leave a community which is unhappy. there is a reason while I have choosen KDE over other desktops, but that is melting away. |

you might be interested in seeing if others feel the same as you re: trash can confirmation, you can post the suggestion on brainstorm to see if there's momentum for this.
how often do you clean your trash can? |
