A fresh KDE version came out today and I could not wait to upgrade (this is my last hasty upgrade, will wait for *.*.2 at least next time)
Lets see the changelog and try these awesome new features.
It is not a standard widget? I don't see it in widget selection. If so why is it in the changelog?
New entry? Nope, don't see it. Somehow Amarok 2.4 lost the whole collection on upgrade. Luckily rescan brought it all (I hope) back. Custom icons for file types are no longer displayed. I have an icon for *.kdb files and it shows in type properties, but does not show on my desktop. And now the worst. I can no longer drag icons around my folder views. I can select them, but can't drag. Dragging results in a selection rectangle. Please share your upgrade experience or comment on these problems. I really hope there are solutions. |

IIRC shelf is associated with Lancelot. But I see it in my Add Widgets bar: are you sure you have kdeplasma-addons installed?
Just tested it, it works, although it's a little glitchy. I also see the option: "Show A Launcher For XXX When It Is Not Running" in the Advanced menu when right clicking on an open program. Are you sure there weren't installation problems? Do you see the same results with a different user account?
Amarok is not part of this release, though.
I'm not able to reproduce this. What distribution are you using?

No problems during installation, except that it suggested to replace some config file nad I accepted. New users don't see any new advanced options either. Maybe I am looking in a wrong place? I click on a window title bar and look into Advanced. Amarok problem probably is not related to KDE, but all worked fine until the upgrade. Restored my collection and config from the backup - only that helped.
Found the problem. When in input devices double click is selected, dragging of icons doesn't work. Huge bug, in my opinion. I still keep finding various minor problems that were not present until the upgrade, maybe will post some of them later. Now I am really tired and frustrated from playing with different accounts and backups. |

You probably need to right click on the taskbar entry -> Advanced. Also make sure you use the default taskbar widget and not Smooth Tasks or something similar.

Plasma main panel does not work with autohide or "windows can cover" visibility setting. It works a short moment after I log in, then the panel sits fixed, covering the bottom of the window. Another panel only containing an activity line works well.
Edit: This appearently happens after kickoff have been used. Before using kickoff the hiding works, after it does not. Sometimes, not always?! Maybe other things leads to this problem as well. ARGH. Edit 2: After removing kickoff from the panel there are no problems. |

@sredna: Please file a bug report against Kickoff for that issue.

Not sure if I should add this here or a new thread.
After updating to 4.6 from Fedora's KDE testing repo I have a problem with widgets not stating where I place them. System is F14 .86_64 and fully updated. I have Quick Launch and placed it near the top of the screen. When I release it it moves down. Previously I could lock the widgets and it would stay in place. With 4.6 that no longer works. It appears to be making room for the panel with the resize, rotate etc. icons on it. |

I did, and it is apperantly more or less solved by now (there seem to be a swarm of similar issues, but kickoff has been fixed). My report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264639, follow the copy redirection for more info. |
