Hard-to-read is in?

Thu Jan 27, 2011 2:47 pm
Hi,

since upgrading to 4.6 the digital clock widget displays it's color in a shade of gray, even when I select pure black as font color. That's because the text is always slightly transparent and it seems I cannot configure that.

Also, in dolphin, all columns except "Name" are displayed in light gray.

Reading light gray text on white background is very tiring (on my monitor at least) so I would love to disable this.

Can I tell dolphin to display all columns in black again? It doesn't appear to me why the other columns should be grayed out anyway...

Regarding the digital clock, maybe it's because of the shadow - try to disable the text shadow or change it to a custom color.

Can you please provide a screenshot of this? Also, which colour scheme do you have selected in System Settings?

Screenshot of dolphin is here: http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/6978/dolphinscreenshot.jpg

I would like the other columns to display in normal text color, like they did before. On my monitor the grayed out text is uncomfortable to read.

I can reproduce that, and it seems to be intentional. It looks worse with your colorscheme though.

You can change the color in System Settingns -> Application Appearance -> Colors -> Colors -> Inactive Text -> (change to darker color), but that will apply to all inactive text.
