Dual head mode in KDE

Sat Feb 12, 2011 7:23 pm
I've just installed Fedora 14 x64 version and had problems from the beginning..
As i see the problem is in KDE, because in login screen everything is ok.
I am using two display (HP L1908w and TV LG 32LB76) and can't set up to TV custom resolution (1804x1026 which i using in windows).
I have installed latest nVIDIA drivers and nothing changed, except some new options in nvidia-settings.
On resolution menu in nvidia-settings i have only default resolutions, which i can not change and can not setup proper resolution.

So, my question is how can i add custom resolution in nvidia-settings application or if that is not possible, how to fix problem with resolution?
I did some research on the internet, but i didn't find solution which works.

and here is my xorg.conf:
http://pastebin.com/pfh1XEcF

please help me and thank you for support.

pardon my English.

Hm, you probably don't want to hear this, but nvidia being closed source you may have problems. Having said that you may want to try dabbling with your xorg.

But what sort of resolution is 1804x1026 anyway? I'd be scared of blowing the screen apart.

uh :/
so what you think to contact nvidia about this problem?
And what you think with dabbling with xorg?
To find solution by myself with tweaking xorg.conf? :)

That resolution is perfect for my LG (HD ready TV), because i was doing custom resolution setup with nvidia control panel (in windows).

If i put 1920x1080 my screen is not fit on display (because TV is not full HD)

Contacting nvidia is a good idea, they should have forums.

And re xorg - specify your resolution settings for the tv and fire it up :) Worth a try...

This is definitely an nVidia problem. KDE has no control whatsoever over the monitor information when you are using the binary nVidia drivers. You should check with the nvidia forums.
