I have KDE 4.6.1 and since a few days it does nt starts. In ksplash it shows the
first icon with the hard disk, after the second with the systemsetting icon, and
after 2-3 minutes it finishs with a black screen. I see only the mouse pointer.
I press ctrl+alt+backspace , i login again and then it works fine. This i have
to do at every boot.


I tried with a new user and i did nt have any problem ( i tried a couple of times)

please trim the file and repost it, the thing is more than 12,000 lines

try clearing your cache and temp files when your session is not running

since it works for a new user maybe it doesn't like one of your plasma config files so test this by moving your plasma files and folder, this will let you know if that's the problem. Of course determining what is bad in these files would not be easy and if that's the problem you'd be best to start clean with the defaults.

After many reboots (ouf!) i realized that i dont have the problem when i shutdown or reboot from konsole commands.
As i am infected from this bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264076 may be they are relatives.

I will investigate it better and i will come back

i updated to 4.6.1, i dont have the crash on logout, and i dont have the problem when KDE starting anymore
