Multiple plasma file notifications?

Sat Mar 26, 2011 11:08 pm
These basically spam my notifications and doesn't even say whats file just transferred. I also know when I exit out of amarok sometimes plasma will crash. It also slows my computer down to ridiculous turtle speed.

Appreciate the help.

Does this happen with a new user account? Also, what are the conditions that trigger this behavior, or does it happen at random?

Usually when I'm listening to music on Amarok. If you use Amarok go to your settings - Collection - Write statistics to file and turn it on and see if it's just amarok writing to files. I tried turning it off and it went away for awhile but happened once with it off.

I think it might be notifications reporting amarok download album art/ writing to files, etc..

Which version of the KDE Workspace do you have? I haven't seen it here at all. Are your files in some non-local location? IIRC the job display is automatically turned off for operations that take less than half a second (500 ms).

Are you using veromix by any chance, or any other plasma widgets that connect with Amarok? I have seen this problem myself, and removing any widgets that connect to amarok seems to fix it.
