Hello there,
question: the config files for one of my applications are showing up as "plain text file". So when clicking them on my folder view for desktop, they are opened up in kate. Instead, I would like that my special application starts up. So I tried to rework the file associations; but then ... all my "plain text files" were associated to that special application. In other words: - i have "plain text files" that are named *.eod ... these should be opened using some script in my home directory - all other "plain text files" should open up with kate So - how do I get there? (I had that working before; but this morning a new version of that application became available; unfortunately not as .deb that I could simply install over the existing one ... so I had to download a tgz, unzip that ... and wrote a little shell script to call the new version of the application ... leading to the mess I see now). thx for your help, |

![]() Sometimes one just needs to sit down a while ... I figured that I have to create a new category within the file assocations->"text". That one uses *.eod and points to my wrapper script. Works nicely; and all other plain text stays plain text. |
