I am aware that you can right click on an application launcher menu entry, and then click on add to panel to create an "icon" as the panel calls it, but how do you create an icon for a custom command? I did not see any obvious widgets that seem to work. The custom commands are only in my bin folder, and there doesn't seem to be any easy way to create an icon other for them since they are in the applications menu already.

You can create e.g. a .desktop file somewhere (e.g. you home directory: right click in Dolphin -> New -> Link to Application) and then drag it to your panel.

The panel will not let me drag the link to the panel. |

Are you widgets unlocked? Are you dropping it in an empty space (i.e. not on a widget like the task bar; between two widgets works).

Okay. I see what I did wrong. It won't let me add it because of the spacers that I use so that all my icons and stuff aren't all on one side of the panel. Thanks. It still takes a while to add it in this way. Do you know of any widgets for making custom script launchers for the panel? |
