Hi,

This must be a naive question, but there it goes. I use to work with several desktops (10) and in kde3 tree was a nice feature, I simple clicked the mouse middle button on a free desktop space and there was (a row to give me) an overview of all windows in all desktops, making easy for me to find a specific window. I cannot find a correspondent in kde4, the most close I found is "desktop grid" at http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.0/desktop.php if I understand this correctly, but control + F8 does not work for me. I am sure I miss something here, so I would be happy that someone point me to the tool and, maybe, link for the to study how to have this "all windows from all destopos overview"in a single click.
Thanks,

J.

desktop grid is a "desktop effect" in the "windows management" section in systemsettings and must be enabled, you don't say whether you have or not

there's also a windows list plasmoid that might suffice

To get the old behavior, right click on desktop -> Desktop Settings -> Mouse Action -> Middle-Button: Switch Window.

Thanks, google01103 and Hans. I will check the windows list plasmoid. Concerning the solution pointed by Hans, at openSuSE 11.2 mouse action was not available at the path pointed (configuration problem), but I just checked that openSuSE 11.4 does offer the option, so I will go for this.

You can configure this with System settings>Destop effects>All effects>Present windows.
Ctrl-F10 does what you want but AFAIK this is configurable.

Thanks john_hudson. This looks yet one more interesting alternative.
