hai... i've been a casual user of KDE 4.6 as on my openSuSe 11.4 on dell vostro 1500 laptop. Things were all fine for some time however these days I cannot find icons or entries that represent my network connections when in click the network icon on the panel. Now I have no other option but to set the connection property to "connect automatically" because I do not have any option to choose between my connections.

Any solutions???

KDE 4.6 shifted to using the Network Management applet. Right click on the system tray (not on an applet or icon in it, careful cursor positioning required), and select System Tray Settings. On the "Display" tab, ensure "Network Management" is ticked.

There is no entry named 'Network Management' in the Display tab. The available options are:-
1.Application status
2.Communications
3.System services
4.Hardware control
5.Miscellaneous

all are ticked.

To say exactly I do have an icon representing a network socket. On cl
icking this icon i am supposed to get a list of connections from which i can choose which one i would like to connect. Now that list is missing. I am uploading a screenshot and as you can notice there isn't a list of connections above "enable networking"

Network Management is located under "Extra Items". It looks like you are currently using KNetworkManager. They cannot both be used at the same time, so you may need to enable the KDE Daemon module for Network Management first.
