Hello.
I'm using Kubuntu 11.04 with KDE 4.6.4. Is there yet a fix to the problem that occurs with kio_thumbnail using a lot of cpu? I've already set dolphin not to create preview for files bigger than 2 MB (default is 5) but it didn't work. It appears to be an issue related to having some large image files (especially tiff) in a folder, then kio_thumbnail keeps running forever. The process doesn't stop even if if close dolphin completely. The only way for me to stop the process is doing it manually (which it's not a real fix). Right now, I don't even have a folder opened and System monitor shows kio_thumbnail using 25% (or one of the cores) of cpu and my cpu temp is almost 70ºC. Any ideas?

This is possibly linked to the Strigi plugins you have installed. Please make sure that they are up to date.
Otherwise, it is probably a bug that the TIFF file reader does not obey the file size restriction.
