How to create a theme?

Sun Jun 19, 2011 4:34 am
I would like to create a theme, especially designed for taking screenshots, that would later be used for printing manuals. The look and feel is already detailed here on the LibreOffice Documentation Production team guideline wiki page [http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Production#Sample_screenshots]

Is there a tutorial on theme creation? Or would anyone have any suggestions?

Any help would be well appreciated.

the quickest and easiest way to make a theme would be to use the qtcurve theme (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=40492%20qtcurve, usually available in your distro's repositories), which has a large number of options and configurations available, and can be used for both kde (qt) and gtk apps. Once installed you can begin configuring by opening systemsettings (kde's configuration tool) -> Application Appearance -> Style, pick QtCurve in the Widget style drop-down, and hit configure. In QtCurve's configuration dialog, you can select from a number of presets or save (and export for sharing) your own.
In addition to widget style, you will probably want to configure the color scheme, icon set and/or fonts which can be done in the corresponding panes of the Application Appearance dialog. For the window title bars, you need to use the systemsettings -> Workspace Appearance -> Window Decorations dialog.

(unfortunately) unlike KDE3 there isn't (yet) a way to save a global theme which contains all of the widget style+window decoration+color scheme+icon set+fonts, but you can bundle each of these together in a single archive for distribution (you can look and see how other people distribute their themes have done by perusing: http://kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=9)

Hello!

I like qtCurve themes, but i need to edit IaOra theme (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ma ... ent=128896). Its a qt-theme, was written on c++ code.

I can edit c++ code, but I cant understand structure of this theme, and cant understand what all these parts of the code.

Do you know any tutorials, manuals, helpers for this topic?
I would be grateful for any information, because I have not found anything like this.

La Ora is a Qt style, so you will probably find the best documentation for one of those in the Qt documentation, which is available at http://doc.qt.nokia.com/

Thanks, it's a first place I started watching. But I can't find what I want.

Just now, I found it: http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/widgets-styles.html

Maybe it can help to someone else.
