Good day
I have played around with my display & font settings and somehow messed up the font rendering on my system. Although I went back to "default" on the font settings and other display settings, the font on all applications, especially in web browsers renders very "choppy".I run WinXP on a VirtualBox and the font there is VERY smooth in comparison to what I now see in Kubuntu/KDE One thing that impressed me about Linux and Ubuntu was the ability to render font a lot better using the same screen card but now somehow I messed this up a bit. Any suggestions? Thanks |

So you got Sans Serif back systemwide? Whatever, the choppiness should have nothing to do with the font itself but rather be monitor/graphic driver related.
More info please and a screenshot wouldn't go amiss either. And in case you weren't aware - try www.kubuntuforums.net

never mind - under Font Settings > Use anti-aliasing > Configure, the "Exclude range" tick was one, meaning that fonts between 8 - 15 pt were exluded from a smoother font rendering - I took the tick of and all is well again
Thanks |
