In the gnome Fedora the foreign language (and foreign keyboard) choices come up with the automatic login screen
- which after a time delay will go to the gnome desktop in English - but KDE Fedora does not ever give the choice, it will just go into English KDE directly. How can I get foreign language support in KDE . . . live version ? I use Fedora for my foreign language learning but would really like to use it in KDE. Thanks in advance. |

Not sure how Fedora offers access to foreign languages but in openSUSE, I simply request a list of all the packages for a particular language and then select the ones I need. They all come as separate RPMs.

I suspect that you would need to install KDE in some form on your computer before you would be able to install the needed packages to change it to use a foreign language.
There are instructions out there to install it onto a flash drive or similar media (such as a external hard disk) if you cannot modify your computer itself. Most computers can boot from external media such as flash drives.

Yes that is what I have done . . . I installed from a Fedora Live KDE CD iso to a 4GB USB as a hard drive and designated the default language other than English. In Fedora gnome live iso they include extensive language support in the automatic login screen of live versions, and the Ubuntu versions of live also cover many languages. Thanks for the help and suggestions. |
