I recently moved up to KDE 4.6 from 4.4 (I know I got a bit behind). And now if I have dolphin open to a folder that is a mounted network share, when my laptop comes back from sleep/suspend it freezes for a while. Since this is my laptop I am using the wireless and it takes around 10 seconds to re-establish the network link when it wakes. However if I have a Dolphin window open it goes all blank, like there are no controls or anything on the window. After a minute or two it will go back to normal.
With KDE 4.4 Dolphin didn't have this problem. If I minimize the window before putting the machine to sleep and don't try and restore the window until the wireless is back up, then it is fine. So I am guessing the window is trying to redraw and with the network connection down it hangs. I was just wondering if there was a work around for this or if this sounds like a legitimate bug that I should file. I am using KDE 4.6.3. |

How have you mounted the share? If you have mounted it directly into the file system (using lines in /etc/fstab or similar) then this is expected behaviour. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to workaround it - as the freeze is handled at the kernel level.
