After upgrading to KDE 4.7 my device notifier is missing a bunch of options. First of all, when I put a CD in Kscd no longer comes up as an option. I've had this problem in the past:

But the solutions outlined in that thread are no longer working. Also, VLC no longer shows up in the notifier at all, and neither does UMPlayer. Can someone assist?

I haven't read the link you provided (sorry, internet is so slow here that it is unbrearable at times) but to adjust device notifier settings you can go into systemsettings - device actions

I know, but it's not working.

Have you modified actions in the past?
Did you use KDE 4.6 or 4.5 previously?

Is your installation of UDisks / UDev operable?

I have modified actions before, but none of the stuff i tried in the past is working.

Yup... and the 4.7 upgrade broke it.

I imagine it is, or I wouldn't be able to play CDs with anything. The only app showing up in the notifier is kaffeine.

For those actions supplied with KDE which broke, please file a bug report - as they should still work.
