I have compiled KDE trunk/ following the directions from techbase. But when I am logged in it, I have problems loading 4.1 applications that come with my distro. Dragon player works fine, but Krita does not (and others).
Code: Select all
$ krita
findServiceByDesktopPath: kritapart.desktop not found
findServiceByDesktopPath: Office/krita.desktop not found

I have managed to start them with Xephyr in a 4.1 session, but that is an overkill IMO. I am looking for a solution as the function start3app in the example .bashrc script.

Debian GNU/Linux Lenny
KDE 4.1.96

How many bugs have you triaged today?

It will be looking in your trunk Paths. you will need to create a special script and use that to launch each 4.1 application ( probably just change $PATH so that it will find your 4.1 kde4-config before your trunk one )
