I have two monitors attached. For some reason windows are not shown on one of my desktops (monitors).
I can right click on the desktop and the context menu appears. Also, the plasma widgets and panels are shown. But windows are not drawn on this monitor. I have another monitor attached with another desktop. Here, it works fine. Windows are shown. What can cause this? Have have never seen anything like it. If I go to System Settings > Hardware > Display > Multiple monitors and press Identify all displays, I see a number on both monitors. http://i.imgur.com/kSINh.jpg <- screenshot. It is the left half that is not working. If I move a window over to the left, the part of the window that is on the left monitor just disappears. I will illustrate with screenshot: look at the terminal window here: http://i.imgur.com/qIopz.jpg I can change desktop backgruond image and so on on both monitors. It is just windows that are not displayed. Desktop effects are NOT enabled. So that can't be it. also, yaquake is shown on the left. However, Konsole is not. http://i.imgur.com/9vGtO.jpg <- screenshot showing yakuake If I drag a window from the working monitor over to the left monitor, then the window disappears as shown here: http://i.imgur.com/qIopz.jpg The konsole windows is halfway on the left monitor and thus invisible. I am sorry if the problem is poorly described. It is a bit difficult for me to describe it, as it is a bit wierd. I really hope you can help me fix this, as my laptop is currently almost unusable when not docked (as the primary display is the non-functioning one) -- when not docked there is only one monitor in the laptop. |

How many virtual desktops do you have on your system? Your second monitor may be on a different virtual desktop...
