I have an HP Mini 110 netbook which does not have Home End PageUp PageDown keys, not even in combination with Fn key.
I am hence trying to assign either Meta+<arrow> key to these or Meta+Ctrl+<arrow>
I am not able to figure out how to do this even after looking through System Settings and doing some basic search on the internet.

Can anyone guide me how to do this?

Moved to Workspace since this isn't exactly Plasma-related.

It should be possible to achieve what you want in System Settings -> Common Appearance and Behavior -> Shortcuts and Gestures -> Custom Shortcuts -> Edit -> New -> Global Shortcut -> Send Keyboard Input. Select a trigger, click on Action and write e.g. Home, End, PgDown etc.

One problem I sometimes have with this method is that if e.g. the shortcut is Meta+Left for Home, it won't work. My guess is that it inputs Home but with Meta still pressed, i.e., Meta+Home, which doesn't work the same as Home. If you have this problem just tell me and I can show you an alternative solution (using another application).

Thank you very much for the help. Although I could not assign Meta+arrow due to conflicts with KWin, I was able to set Ctrl+Meta+arrow for the needed actions. I have tried it on my desktop. If there are any problems with the netbook I will come back.

I think I will have much less frustration while using this Mini. Still I can't forgive HP for the brain dead decision of omitting the Home End PgUp and PgDown keys.

Thanks again :)

You're welcome sling-shot, glad to hear that it worked out. :)

I changed the [SOLVED] in the title to the variant we usually use here (if you see the topic in a search etc. you can click on the green arrow to directly jump to the answer), please see this post for more information on how to do it and how to mark it as unsolved again.

Has there been any developments with Qt5 that will enable the Meta / Windows key to be connected to launching the KMenu?

To my knowledge - there are improvements allowing non-keyboard devices to send input events (like mouse buttons, etc) but I do not know if any change has occurred to meta keys at this time.
