Where'd the 'back bar' go in Kickoff?

My beloved "Back Bar" in Kickoff is gone in 4.7. The new style of having to drag your cursor to the top right corner to go back to the previous group is a pain. I might switch back to the Classic Menu style.

Can we have both, or the ability to enable/disable?

Bring back the Back Bar! :P

:(

Oh yes, I'm missing it too! The back bar was quite handy. But I know it was only handy if the menu was on the very left side of the screen. So it was not always very helpful.

The developers should have make it configurable whether it should have the back bar or the new style (in the upper right area).

Yes. Bring it back!

I miss it too. Navigating in the menu was faster with the large and consistent back button. I thought there was an option to re-enable it, but I was shocked to see that no such option exists!

Any plans on bringing it back, or at least letting the user choose to enable it?

There was a person on IRC who wanted to bring it back, he/she said that he/she would contact the committer who removed it.

Personally I don't think it should be another option - I don't see any reason to hide the back button except for saving a bit space.

I would use the regular menu style if the back button was there. I switched to the classic menu because it is missing. I was surprised to see it was gone.

I noticed the same thing. That button was a lot easier to hit than the current text, which is smaller. The button you could just ram the mouse all the way left, and it was the whole height of the menu.

To me it seems more usable as it was. It doesn't seem like something worthy of a config option: just seems like the old behavior was easier to use.

"Back bar" from KDE 4.6.x seems to me more usable, ability for enable/disable it or choice method of return will be a good idea IMHO.

They won't be bringing it back, but the same functionality is available by just clicking the scroll wheel leftwards or the the back thumb button.

Note that Kickoff does have a more discretionary back feature - in the form of the clickable breadcrumbs in the upper right portion of the Kickoff applet.
