I'm running KDE 4.7.1 on Kubuntu 11.10; the problem I'm describing here has been present since upgrading to Kubuntu 11.04 earlier this year.

The icon for Kile does not show up in the system menu -- instead, all that appears is an icon consisting of a blank page with a question mark. Checking the menu settings confirms that the correct icon is associated with Kile -- it's just not appearing in the menu itself.

Can anyone advise what the problem could be and how to fix it?
