KDE 4.7.1 does not save settings

Tue Oct 18, 2011 8:06 am
Hi,
After I upgraded from Kubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 last week, KDE 4.7.1 does not retain applied settings across system sessions. Such as preferred power management profile and screen resolution.
It also looks like the existing settings have been discarded during the upgrade.
Thanks for any advice.

Problem solved. I had the settings manager regenerate the power saving profile for the computer, and now it retains its settings. The new screen resolution has been stored as standard and is carried over to new sessions. Thanks for the advices.

Hi. I am having the same problem as you but I don't know how to make the settings manager regenerate the power saving profile. Is this something that I have to do within my OS? or is this a hardware thing?
