Would it be possible to have my web browser, which is Chromium, open fullscreen, i.e. not merely maximized but how it is when we press F11? How would I set this up in KDE? Currently I start it normal-sized with an icon I'd put on the panel.
I'm using Kubuntu 11.10. Idiot-proof instructions might not be necessary but I may as well have them anyway... Thanks. |

if you maximize Chromium -> right click the window bar -> advanced -> special window settings -> size and position -> click size -> select apply initially

Thanks, that's a good start and it does answer something I had asked about a few days ago so that I'm now acquainted with KDE features I might never have found.
But I haven't quite got what I'd like for Chromium just yet. If it's possible, every time I click on my Chromium icon on the panel I'd like it to open automatically on the entire screen, as full as it is after we'd normally press F11. After pressing F11 normally, the browser takes up the entire screen and loses its borders, which is often handy especially on a netbook. (I have Kubuntu 11.10 on two of my three computers, one being a netbook.) I don't assume this is possible, but looking at all those options you've drawn my attention to, if a desktop environment could offer this it would be KDE. I hope I'm making sense. Thanks to you and anyone who offers further replies. |

instead of "apply initially" try force and remember

This is a Chromium-specific question and not really related to KDE, since the F11 feature isn't something the window manager can handle (as far as I know).
You can try to launch it as
and see if that's what you want.
