Hi,

Kubuntu 11.10 on a netbook. Since upgrade from 11.04 two systray icons appear when updates are available.
Image

The left one opens "Software Updates" which show up as muon-updater process. The right one opens "Apper" which runs as apper.

Is this a KDE or Kubuntu problem?

Ah, I also remember that this might have been introduced by a recent update. After upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10 for a while only the right icon showed up.

muon and apper are 2 separate apps, they each have a system tray - you shouldn't be running both concurrently

I understand that apper (and kpackagekit) was replaced by Muon in Kubuntu 11.10. So the upgrade software didn't remove apper and kpackagekit. Did this now manually.

Thank you
