I've noticed that krunner eats up rather a lot of CPU and disk I/O during KDE startup, and I'd like to disable it to see if that has any impact on start times. Problem is, there seems to be no easy way to disable it, and Googling has turned up very little. How can I disable it?

disabling it in the autostart kcm in systemsettings should keep it from starting http://simplest-image-hosting.net/png-0 ... 105-194757

Thanks, but it's not in there. This is KDE 4.5.5 (on Slack 13.37). Any other way?

check for krunner in all the autostart folder:
~/[.kde4|.kde]/Autostart ~/[.kde4|.kde]/share/autostart ~/Desktop/autostart ~/.config/autostart ~/.local/share/autostart /etc/xdg/autostart /usr/share/autostart |

It's possible that krunner is started by the startkde script, see /usr/bin/startkde.

On Kde 5.20.x it is in System Settings -> Shortcuts, search for krunner and remove/replace the shortcut.
But krunner (left Alt+Spacebar) can be handy (for example to r€s€t KDE search/run app.
I hate outdated KDE bug tracking system, i like Gitlab.
