Hallo,
that's my first posting in this forum. I hope I've placed this posting in the correct sub-forum. This week I've updated to KDE SC 4.7.x on my Asus Eeepc. First positive was, that KDE 4.7 seems to be a little bit faster and the visual effects are quite smoother. So good work developers! ![]() But now I've found something which means little disadwantage for my usage: In KDE 4.6.x (and before) it was possible to switch easily and fast between different energy profiles (xtream power saving, power saving, etc.) by left-klicking the battery-plasma-applet. In KDE 4.7. this has been removed (or I didn't find it). If I'm right, I have to use different activities to use different energy profiles (which is an interesting idea first). The problem is, that I'm using Plasma-Netbook. And the "Netbook-activities" are not supporting the option to set up different energy profiles. (Cross probe: If i switch to normal desktop-plasma, it is possible to set up different activities with different energy profiles). So my question is: Is there some developing ongoing for on Plasma-Netbook to support different energy profiles again? Or can I get back the switching feature of KDE 4.6 battery-plasmoid (by 3rd party software, maybe?). The netbook has a small display with low resolution, so the normal "Plasma-Desktop" is not as good usable as the "Plasma-Netbook", but if "Plasma-Netbook" isn't developed anymore, I've to switch to Gnome-Shell... Thanks in advance for any feedback! Florian |

Hello, the changes you are mentioning (removal of the profiles and activity-based profiles) are in KDE 4.8. If you are not using a pre-release, there might be something wrong with your distributor, as those features were present in 4.7. However, in 4.8 you should be able to link plasma-netbook activities to specific power management behavior
