Custom device action: solid.

Sat Dec 24, 2011 5:59 am
Hi.

I'm trying to make a custom device action in device manager for a script to format removable media storage devices.

For this, I've added new device actions as such -

"The device property removable must equal true"
or
Parameter type: Property match
Device type: storage device
Value name: removable
Equals true

But, the action is not displayed for any kind of device.

In the case of Plasma's Device Notifier, you have to restart Plasma for new actions to be detected.

You may wish to try working with "solid-hardware query 'predicate'".

In this case, your predicate is "StorageDevice.removable == true". This doesn't match on my UDisks based system to connected flash drives.

On the other hand, "StorageDrive.removable == true" does match, both my optical drive and a flash drive I tested. However, it matches the device itself, and not the partitions on it.
