I don't know if window bar is the correct term, but I'm talking about the bar where all the windows are listed.
However, I want to know if there is a way to change to color of the inactive windows. It's unreadable if they aren't focused and I don't want to change my plasma theme. I even would be happy if the color didn't change at all. I appreciate any help. |

is the problem caused by using a translucent theme where the text and the desktop background are the same color?
which theme are you using and could you post a picture? in the details tab in systemsettings -> workspace appearance -> desktop theme -> details -> panel you could change just the theme of the panel background (which is what the taskmanager resides on), maybe to a non-translucent one |

Hey,
I'm using Air. Here is a picture -> http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/5474/picturexj.png I really don't want to change anything. This theme fits perfectly. |

since you are using a translucent theme changing just the panel background theme to a different translucent one with a different font shouldn't really change the look of you current desktop. Maybe white text would be more readable.
Alternatively you could use a task manager that doesn't display test just the icon (smooth, icon or fancy). Note: currently only icon-tasks works in 4.8 |

Well, I love Air and I'm not changing! I demand a solution!
It seems when a Task Manager button is not focused, the font/text color turns to a medium gray, which is unreadable on all wallpapers, light or dark. The button glow is sufficient to illustrate which window is currently selected, so the text should always stay very dark or black to be readable, as the blur or even just transparency are sufficient to colorize the background of black text to be readable over any wallpaper. This is a KDE defaults issue, since Kubuntu 12.04 (which is my distro of choice) uses the vanilla KDE theme. Moreover, I have not seen Air's Task manager font color ever work properly on any distro for this reason. So, if someone would be so kind as to point me and others in the direction of the settings file wherein the font color can be edited to perfection, we would be in your debt. Thanks in advance! |
