I just switched back to Linux after 3 years on a Mac. My choice fell on KDE on Ubuntu (although, ironically, right the day I installed, Ubuntu dropped funding for Kubuntu).
Up to now I'm very happy about the re-gained freedom, for me it more then outweights some glichtes. Thanks for that piece of software, KDE guys! My question: Is there a way to disable scrolling in the panel to switch virtual desktop? While scrolling in task panel (Fensterleiste) and in virtual desktop switcher is perfectly ok, I don't like so much that all the rest of the panel, no matter what it contains, switches virtual desktop. For example, when a notification pops out and by accident the mouse points there and scrolls in that moment, the virtual desktop is switched. Not a big issue, but still it would be nice to change that. |

Welcome back!
![]() That sounds like a bug, I can't reproduce it at all. Can you please take a screenshot and indicate (e.g. paint with some color) where scrolling changes virtual desktop? Are you sure it's virtual desktop and not window? (The taskbar takes up all empty space on the panel, so it would make more sense if it were windows.) Also, which version are you using?

I've created a short screencast which should explain it better.
http://bit.ly/ykezv7 The taskbar correctly switches between windows. But all the rest of the pars scroll desktop (except components which bind some action to scroll, e.g. amarok or kmix). Another strange (at least to me) thing is that when I click on the empty desktop anywhere, I always get switched to the first desktop. Is that normal behaviour? |
