Dragging Firefox tabs doesn't work across virtual desktops

In Gnome when you drag Firefox tab to the edge, it switches to the corresponding virtual desktop. In KDE it doesn't work with tabs dragging (it works with window dragging only). Is something missing in Firefox to support this kind of desktop switching in KDE?

If you temporarily swap KWin out for the GNOME window manager, does this work under KDE? I suspect KWin either does not honour a window flag that Firefox sets, or does not act in same manner (due to differences on interpretations with regards to those window flags).

I created $HOME/.kde/env/wm.sh
like this:
Code: Select all
export KDEWM=metacity

It started metacity after relogging, but in such case even windows aren't draggable across virtual desktops, let alone tabs (or may be it wasn't enough to make metacity work properly)?

Ok, this is weird - as the Window Manager should be responsible for changing the Virtual Desktop as far as I am aware.
