Adaptive Power Management

Tue Feb 21, 2012 12:57 pm
Hello,

I read that KDE4.8 got adaptive power management as described below:

"In addition, power management is now multi-screen aware and adapts to the user's current activity. This means, for example, that power settings can be set to never dim or never turn off the screen in a Photos or Video Activity."

How to enable this "never dim or never turn off the screen in a Photos or Video Activity" ?

Dario Freddi (the author of this feature) made a couple of blog posts and screencasts during the 4.8 development cycle to show off this feature:

Those should provide a start.

For those too impatient to watch: System Settings -> (Hardware ->) Power Management -> Activity settings.
