Focusing application's windows via command line

Hi,

I was working on helper "Service Menu" and ran into an odd problem. Sometimes when the application that the helper launched was already open it wouldn't forward the application's window to the user's focus. Is there any way to force that behavior? For example, let's say that the "Service Menu" runs..
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/mozilla-thunderbird

And thunderbird is already up and running, but stacked behind four other windows. I'd like the program to come into focus, but sometimes it will stay in the background.

Any thoughts? If this is in the wrong forum, please move it to the right one :)

Thanks!
Stephen

This is likely KWin's focus stealing support at work.

As you are interacting with another window at the time, KWin determines the other application to be attempting to "steal" focus - and blocks it from doing so.
