I'm running Mint 12 KDE. I have the workspace set up with three different windows in one row. When I start up, the screen is set to the third window. Any ideas why? I would prefer it start on the leftmost (first) window. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you make a screenshot of the problem? What do you mean by "third window" exactly?

A screenshot would be pointless, but the fact that you asked means I failed to explain my problem properly. Sorry.
By "window" I mean I have the pager set up with three desktops. When I start mint, the default display seems to be the "last" desktop, not the first. I'd rather it be the first, or left-most desktop. Is there a way to change that? Or perhaps it's not an option (not one I've ever heard of), but something else is causing it?

Ah, so it appears on desktop 4 rather than desktop 1.
This could be due to any number of reasons, most likely be that in systemsettings - start up and shutdown - session management you have "restore previous session ticked. Try "start with an empty session" if that is the case.

Thanks again, Toad. I'll give it a try!

By the way, I just noticed the "restore manually saved" option. How does one manually save a session? Is that done by saving the activity?

When you select this option, new shutdown options become available in Kickoff which allow you to save your current session state.

Ah. Got it. I like the empty state instead. Thanks!
