battery-icon-problem

Wed Mar 14, 2012 1:20 pm
Hey guys,

I've installed the Debian-based Distribution "ZevenOS Neptune 2.0" on my Laptop (Acer TimelineX 4820TG)and there is no battery-icon in the panel.
In the configuration center, there is a warning:
Code: Select all
The activity service is running with bare functionalities.
Names an Icons of the activities might be not available.

acpi -V says:

Code: Select all
Battery 0: Charging, 69%, 00:47:26 until charged
Battery 0: design capacity 6000 mAh, last full capacity 4502 mAh = 75%
Adapter 0: on-line
Thermal 0: ok, 36.0 degrees C
Thermal 0: trip point 0 switches to mode critical at temperature 105.0 degrees C
Thermal 0: trip point 1 switches to mode passive at temperature 100.0 degrees C
Cooling 0: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 1: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 2: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 3: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 4: LCD 0 of 9
Cooling 5: LCD 0 of 9

The battery is present to the kernel, but not to KDE.
Where can I enable the battery-icon?
Thanks and sorry for my bad English. ;)

Can you please verify that UPower is running on your computer?
If it is, try opening the System Tray settings > Display. Then make sure "Battery Monitor" is checked.

KDE Sysadmin

To get rid of this message you can "Enable Nepomuk Semantic Desktop".
KDE "System Settings" -> "Workspace Appearance and Behavior" -> "Desktop Search" -> "Basic Settings" Tab -> put a check mark next to "Enable Nepomuk Semantic Desktop" -> click "Apply"
Note: this will "Enable Nepomuk Semantic Desktop".

If you put a check mark next to "Battery Monitor" in "System Tray Settings" and left click "Apply", or "OK", then you'll have a battery icon in the "System Tray".
-
To show "Battery Monitory":
right click on KDE "System Tray" -> "System Tray Settings" -> "Display" -> "Extra Items" -> put a check mark next to "Battery Monitor" -> click "Apply" or "OK"
-
To change "Battery Monitor" "Visibility":
right click on KDE "System Tray" -> "System Tray Settings" -> "Entries" -> choose "Visibility" Option(s) -> click "Apply" or "OK"
"Auto" shows icon in main/"Visible" "System Tray" part when battery isn't full, otherwise it's in the up arrow/"Hidden" "System Tray" part.
"Hidden" shows icon in up arrow/"Hidden" "System Tray" part, no matter what the battery level is.
"Always Visible" shows icon in main/"Visible" "System Tray" window part, no matter what the battery level is.
-
To add the "System Tray" "Widget":
left click on the "Cashew" -> "Add Widgets" -> find the "System Tray" "Widget" -> drag it to where you want it
