Ubuntu 12.04, KDE 4.8.1

I have several Gambas applications in the launch bar (not the tool tray). They all have the same icon. Can I change the icon?

Not sure what you mean by launch bar

if an app icon dragged to the panel then right click the icon -> icon settings -> general tab -> left click icon and the select icon window will pop up

if the Kmenu -> right click Kmenu -> edit applications -> select app -> left click icon and then change it

Sorry, should have said "task Manager"
If I right click on a icon I just get "Remove this launcher" or "Task Manager settings"
However if I right click on an icon in the system (tool?) tray I do get an option to change the icon.

I'll find out how to get my apps in the system/tool tray, then problem solved.

Thanks

if you right click an app in the task manager you should get bunch of options (move, minimize, maximize, start new instance, etc...). If you right click an empty spot on the task manager you get "Remove this launcher" or "Task Manager settings"

again not sure what you mean by "system/tool tray", you mean placing app's (their icons) in the panel so you can launch an app? if so you just drag and drop from Kmenu

OK, only been using KDE for a few days. Not "tool tray" but "Panel"!

Any way I am now sorted - thanks for your patience
