No volume controls in system tray?

Being an infrequent user of KDE and a first timer to 4.8, I can't figure out how to get a volume icon in my tray. There appears to be no widget for such an important item. Help please!

kmix or veromix (which may not be in you repos, if not use Get New Hot stuff in the add widget panel)
